Get to the heart of percutaneous coronary procedures

Percutaneous coronary (or cardiac) interventions (PCI) treat patients with diseased arteries of the heart. PCI can be primary or elective, but not in the same way other procedures are, said Betty Johnson, CPC, CPC-H, CPC-I, CPCD, president and CEO of Betty Johnson & Associates, Inc., in Palos Hills, IL. Johnson gave a presentation, “Percutaneous Coronary Interventions,” at the AAPC national conference in Jacksonville, FL, June 8.
