Insurer's breach affects 230,000

Up to 230,000 Anthem Blue Cross customers’ medical records may have been inappropriately accessed because of an upgrade to its website that left the door to their PHI open, a company spokeswoman told the Associated Press June 25.
A site user accessed confidential information such as medical records and Social Security numbers in the breach during an October 2009 upgrade, Anthem spokeswoman Cynthia Sanders told the AP.
