Establish a robust coding auditing program

Many reasons justify establishing an internal auditing program. An organization may have a compliance plan that mandates such a program and requires the coding manager to execute it, for example.
Managers can and should determine whether their staff’s coding is appropriate and compliant with all coding regulations or whether their organization is vulnerable to an external investigation. Some managers implement an internal auditing program to determine the focus of additional education. Regardless of the reason, managers must determine what to review once a program has been established.
