What are your current job responsibilities?
My current job responsibilities include coding outpatient surgery center records, antepartum records, observation records, and emergency room/prompt care records.

Why did you decide to pursue a career in health information management?  
I have always had an interest in the allied healthcare field, so I started out as a licensed practice nurse and later switched to HIM. Today, we are considered more the “revenue cycle analyst” in the outpatient setting.

What do you like most about your job?  
I mainly like learning about the latest surgical procedures being performed.

What is your favorite area of coding?   
My favorite area of coding would be OB/GYN.

What is your least favorite area of coding?  
My least favorite area of coding would be orthopedics.

What are some of your hobbies? 
My hobbies include surfing the Internet, using my home computer for research and relaxation, and creating my own home music library.

Do you have a personal motto that you live by? 
My personal motto would be, “Live for today as who knows what tomorrow brings.”
