This shouldn’t surprise providers because newer regulations tend to solicit greater scrutiny, says Gloryanne Bryant, BS, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCDS, regional managing director of HIM at Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc., and Hospitals in Oakland, CA. Nor should it preclude providers from reading the Work Plan and updating their own compliance and auditing programs, Bryant says.
