Update: Economy slowing growth of electronic health record implementation in hospitals

: In the face of the economic downturn and the credit market freeze, hospitals are struggling to implement fully integrated electronic health record (EHR) systems.
According to a study published in the March New England Journal of Medicine and discussed in the June HICI, only 1.5% of hospitals had a comprehensive EHR system and 7.6% had even a basic EHR system.
