Staff members still trying to understand the differences between packaged and bundled services now need to dig out of another quagmire—the division of Q status indicators into three subcategories.
To distinguish between bundled and packaged services, remember that bundling applies to coding and packaging applies to reimbursement, says Ardith Campbell, CPC, CPC-H, CCP. Campbell serves as president of the Professional Coders of Central Washington in Yakima, the local chapter of the American Academy of Professional Coders.
