On August 13, the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT) issued a letter to the Office of the National Coordinator and its Advisory Committees in response to the Health Information Technology (HIT) Policy Committee’s recommendations regarding EHR certification.
The letter identifies actions needed to regain lost momentum for EHR adoption and provides an analysis of the meaningful use matrix that the HIT Policy Committee approved during its July 16 meeting. CCHIT identifies gaps between the matrix and current or planned certification requirements.
