When creating a CDI program, you first have to determine its organizational structure. Will it live under the same roof as HIM or will it take up residence in the finance department? How many certified coders will be included in the team and how many registered nurses? Will the program at your facility hire a physician advisor designated for the sole purpose of helping to improve clinical communication?
ACDIS puts these questions and quite a few more to our members and readers in its CDI Program Structure Benchmarking Survey. Please take a moment to complete the survey. ACDIS members will receive full access to the report, and some results will be shared with readers of CDI Strategies in future issues.
