Hospitals often consider bedside services as outpatient services in the inpatient setting. Consequently, outpatient coders and billers may be well versed in what these services are and can serve as a resource for inpatient staff members.
Outpatient coders and billers become an even more valuable resource as hospitals consider whether to line-item bill inpatients for ancillary bedside services.
