The transition to ICD-10 and preparing for recovery audit contractors are two big issues for inpatient coders. The July issue of BCCS focuses on both, in its coverage of CMS’ recently released General Equivalence Mappings (to help hospitals understand how ICD-9-CM codes translate to ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS and vice versa) and two RAC-related Open Door Forums.
