HHS hasn't released any significant news pertaining to HIPAA regulations since its draft guidance on unsecure protected health information April 17, but don’t consider that an excuse to remain idle.

Major regulations pertaining to breach notification are forthcoming in August—the Federal Trade Commission and HHS will address PHRs and PHI, respectively. 

However, now is the time to start thinking about the impact of the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act on HIPAA.
