NCVHS provides comments about meaningful use

On June 1, the National Committee on Vital and Health Statistics (NCVHS) posted a 10-page document about the meaningful use of health information technology to its Web site. The document outlines several salient points that arose from the NCVHS hearings held April 28–29. NCVHS states that a phased-in approach with a focus on quality outcomes, health status improvement, and controlling costs is an essential step toward the adoption and meaningful use of EHR technology.
