Medicare: No coverage for virtual colonoscopy screening

The virtual world may need to wait a bit longer to attract Medicare’s attention.
CMS published “Proposed Decision Memo for Screening Computed Tomography Colonography (CTC) for Colorectal Cancer (CAG-00396N)” February 11. CMS proposes in this memorandum not to cover virtual colonoscopy, also called CTC screening, due to clinical shortcomings and insufficient cost benefit.
