If you haven’t done so already, take the time to review the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology’s (CCHIT) updated roadmap for expansion of health information technology certification. The update emphasizes the importance of flexibility related to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. CCHIT plans to launch nine new programs in 2010 and extend certification to new specialties, settings, and populations. Note that the public comment period on the roadmap closes on March 24. To view the expansion roadmap, visit CCHIT’s Web site.
