Expansion still under study, say presenters
At a December 18, 2008 listening session, CMS presenters discussed possibilities for extending the inpatient hospital-acquired conditions (HAC) concepts to the hospital outpatient (HOP) setting. The talk came during the afternoon session of a daylong call sponsored by CMS and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on HACs in the inpatient and outpatient settings.
