Get to know your bleeds to ensure proper coding

Consider the following scenario: A 67-year-old male nursing home patient is found on the floor outside of his bathroom. He is covered with a black, gooey substance that has also filled the toilet. His blood pressure is 90/64 mm Hg, and his pulse is 122 bpm. During the trip to the hospital, he receives a liter of lactated Ringers solution wide open. A second liter is running.
