Officials answer questions during special ODF
By now, one point remains clear: CMS has halted the work of the four new recovery audit contractors (RAC). However, what’s not clear is what will happen as the Government Accountability Office (GAO) answers a protest made by two unsuccessful bidders for the RAC program, and what effect, if any, the automatic stop will have on a 2010 national rollout deadline.
CMS held a special Open Door Forum (ODF) November 13, 2008, to answer some of these questions, introduce the new contractors, and provide details about the RAC program.
