CMS issues annual HCPCS update for 2009

The HCPCS Level II updates for 2009 appear to contain few startling items, but none that you should overlook.
The October 31 update features 160 new codes, nearly 190 changes, and 77 deletions of codes and modifiers. Among the updates are corrections to G0275 (nonselective renal artery) and G0278 (nonselective iliac/femoral artery) angiography, adding the word “nonselective” to the long descriptor. The update calls special attention to several changes for skin substitute products.
Minor changes to the initial update appeared November 10.
