The International Association of Privacy Professions and Intel have teamed up to dedicate January 28, 2009, as “Data Privacy Day.” The goal is to help raise awareness of data privacy practices and rights. US, Canadian and European government officials will join events scheduled for the day.
Essentially, some members of Congress lobbied for a national privacy day in light of the recent effort by dozens of state and federal officials to protect patients’ and citizens’ privacy. Officials have put a lot of emphasis into privacy lately, especially attorney generals.
Check out the event at Intel’s Web site.
