Shands Jacksonville (FL) Medical Center has fired 20 staff members for inappropriately viewing or sharing information from NFL player Richard Collier’s medical records, First Coast News reported October 31.

Collier was an offensive lineman for the Jacksonville Jaguars prior to his injuries and subsequent hospitalization.

"Shands Jacksonville takes all patient privacy complaints seriously. We investigate all of these complaints fully. If a breach in patient privacy is found, then appropriate disciplinary action up to and including termination can be taken," the medical center said in a statement.
