Your healthcare facility today probably allows or has pondered the idea of allowing employees to work remotely. Rising gas prices, the cost of day care, and the pressure on managers to retain quality employees makes working from home a perk many providers may consider providing to staff members. And certain types of staff members, such as clinical staff members, may need to work remotely to keep on top of their jobs.
“It’s a legitimate business approach these days,” says Kate Borten, CISSP, CISM, president of The Marblehead (MA) Group. You can try to prevent staff members from working off-site, but in many cases, there is a legitimate reason to let them do so, adds Borten.
