Two staff members guilty of taking patient photographs with cell phones and posting them on MySpace have been fired from the University of New Mexico, according to a September 22 Associated Press article in the Chicago Sun-Times. Most of the photographs were of injuries treated in the hospital’s emergency room.

The investigation is ongoing at the Albuquerque hospital. Meanwhile, the hospital has also disciplined other staff members, reports the newspaper.

'We just won't tolerate unprofessional actions by any of our staff. We just won't stand for that,' said the hospital’s director of public affairs, Sam Giammo.
