Review cataract coding guidelines to ensure compliance in honor of Cataract Awareness Month

A cataract occurs when clouding develops in the eye’s lens, causing light obstruction that typically leads to vision loss or blindness when left untreated. According to the National Eye Institute, more than half of all Americans aged 80 or older either have a cataract or have had cataract surgery.

Encourage staff members to take the quiz below in observance of Cataract Awareness Month. Visit www.nei.nih.gov/health/cataract/cataract_facts.asp for more information about cataracts, which is the most common cause of blindness.
