Two nurses from South Jersey Healthcare-Regional Medical Center in Vineland have been terminated due to HIPAA violations, the Bridgeton News reported June 24.
Michelle Silvio, president of the local chapter of Health Professionals and Allied Employees (HPAE), a state health workers union, told the newspaper that many nurses who have worked for South Jersey Healthcare for a while may have inadequate information about HIPAA requirements.
HPAE told the newspaper it would offer a free HIPAA workshop to its members.
