Sixteenth National HIPAA Summit to focus on privacy, security training

The upcoming Sixteenth National HIPAA Summit will feature privacy and security training with the option of professional certification for attendees, according to the Summit Web site.
The Summit also will include advanced privacy and security training sessions, and updates on HIPAA transactions, code sets and identifiers, strategies for compliance and HIPAA’s applicability to electronic health records and health information technology (IT).
“The HIPAA Summit conference series provides a road map to understanding the complex requirements of federal and state law and illuminates strategies for compliance,” according to the Summit Web site.
The Summit will feature specialized tracks for attendees, including sessions on:

Advanced privacy compliance issues

Advanced issues in security compliance

Issues raised by health IT
-
Advanced sessions on HIPAA transactions, code sets, and identifier compliance

New privacy issues and upcoming challenges for privacy professionals
The Summit is collocated with the 2008 Privacy Symposium August 18–21 at Harvard University in Cambridge, MA. An early bird discount is available for participants who register by July 18.
