A: Be sure to revisit HIPAA rules and regulations, state-specific general laws, CMS requirements, Federal Rules of Evidence (803(6)), and professional practice standards. Accreditation agencies are resources that will provide guidelines to determine and define the “business” record of an organization. The business record is the LHR.
