Computers stolen in Texas results in security breach for New Hampshire hospital

Elliot Health System in Manchester, NH, experienced a security breach in late February when 10 computers potentially containing patient PHI were stolen from one of its vendors, Texas-based Advanced Medical Partners, according to a March 16 Associated Press (AP) article.

The stolen password-protected computers may have contained names, birthdates, and insurance information for six patients, according to the AP. Elliot Health Systems sent the patients whose PHI the breach may have compromised a letter alerting them to the problem.
