If you haven't already provided feedback on the Joint Commission's proposal to implement a Documentation of Care chapter to include requirements formerly located in the Information Management chapter, do so before the comment period ends this week.
The Joint Commission is proposing this new chapter as part of the Standards Improvement Initiative. Although the chapter does not contain any new requirements, several requirements have been edited for clarity. The Joint Commission has also added language to certain elements of performance to make requirements explicit that may have been unclear in the past.
For more information or to take the online survey to provide feedback, visit www.jointcommission.org/Standards/SII/dc_hap_021108.htm.
