TN-based blood center reports missing laptops containing data on 320,000 individuals

Lifeblood, a Memphis, TN-based blood center, is missing two laptops that employees previously used during mobile blood collection drives, according to a February 13 press release. The laptops, which Lifeblood presumes to be stolen, contain password-protected data on 320,000 individuals. That data on the computers includes donor names, contact information, gender, ethnicity, and Social Security numbers.

Lifeblood has notified affected individuals, and Memphis police are investigating the theft, according to the press release.
