January 28 is Data Privacy Day

On January 28 the U.S., along with 27 European countries, will celebrate Data Privacy Day 2008, according to the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) Web site. On that date, Duke University will host a meeting for U.S. and European privacy professionals to promote data protection. IAPP also encourages privacy professionals throughout the country to give a presentation on the importance of data protection either on or during the week of January 28.
