Ernst & Young recently released their "10th Annual Global Information Security Survey," a report of senior executives in 50 countries.

The report indicates that "there are signs that security is actually becoming a tool organizations use to meet their business objectives," says DarkReading.

The report shows that compliance, privacy and data protection, and meeting business objectives are the top three drivers for security, according to the article. The report also indicated that eight out of every 10 organizations surveyed said that security helped improve IT and operational efficiency, and six out of 10 indicated that security helped their organization meet its strategic initiatives, says DarkReading.
