Kentucky healthcare IT summit to discuss e-Health technology

The progress, opportunities, and challenges in developing and implementing Kentucky's e-Health technology will be the topic of discussion at Kentucky's upcoming healthcare information technology (IT) summit, according to a November 15 article in the Louisville, KY-based Business First.
The summit "provides a unique opportunity for Kentuckians from health care, public health, business, technology, academic, and policy communities to discuss the progress we've made and opportunities we face as we work together to develop and implement e-Health in Kentucky," according to the Kentucky e-Health Network Web site.
According to Business First, the summit will include the following:
- Educational sessions, including a discussion on protecting privacy and security
- Sessions on best practices for implementing electronic health records
- An update on federal activities
- Information on various regional and community e-Health efforts
The 2nd annual Kentucky e-Health Summit, takes place December 6-7. The event is sponsored by the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services and the Kentucky e-Health Network Board.
