Last Wednesday, President Obama signed into law the Protecting Affordable Coverage for Employees (PACE) Act, which preserves the existing scope of the small group market (employers with 50 or fewer employees) under the Affordable Care Act—a move that counters original plans to broaden its application to organizations with 51-100 employees beginning January 1, 2016. According to NAHC, the change could keep premiums from rising for home health and hospice agencies that offer health insurance and are considered mid-sized operations under today’s ACA market definitions.
