Q: Where can agencies access information on the Stark Law and other anti-kickback laws in a format we can understand?

Homecare Insider, March 3, 2011

A: On February 9, 2011, the Office of Inspector General (OIG) posted new physician educational material to assist in teaching physicians about the Federal laws designed to protect the Medicare and Medicaid programs and beneficiaries from fraud, waste, and abuse.

Included in these materials are a roadmap, PowerPoint presentation, speaker’s notes, and video presentation. These materials summarize the five main Federal fraud and abuse laws, including the False Claims Act, the Anti-Kickback Statute, the Stark Law, the Exclusion Statute, and the Civil Monetary Penalties Law. In addition to educating physicians, these are excellent resources for providers.
