The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas ruled that a physician's credentialing information was irrelevant in determining whether or not the doctor treated an uninsured heart attack victim differently than the other patients. Additionally, the court determined that the credentialing information was protected under Texas peer review laws, according to an August 20 article in The Bureau of National Affairs, Inc.'s Health Care Daily Report.

The estate of Troy Lee Aylor filed the lawsuit against United Regional Health Care System, Inc., in Wichita Falls after Aylor was released following a 90-minute emergency room visit and died of a heart attack the next day.
