The Joint Commission revises guidelines for medical staff complaint

Physicians and members of the medical staff can now voice their concerns about a hospital's safety and quality of care without fear of reprisal, according to new Joint Commission rules the agency announced on September 5. "The accreditation participation requirement previously referred generally to hospital staff, although it has always been intended that physicians and medical staff be included as part of 'Good Faith Participation' in the accreditation policy," according to the press release.
