Tip of the week: Not every new technology needs to be added to your core privileging system

Not every new technology or service is appropriate to every facility, and in fact, it may be best not to incorporate a particular service or technology into your core privileging system, even as a special procedure. Consider the following factors before integrating a new technology into your program:
- The financial aspects of the new technology
- The actual cost burden to the hospital
- The demand for the new technology
