Are the National Provider Identifiers (NPI) numbers for the physicians on your medical staff correct? Providers (whether individuals or organizations) should double-check the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES) records, to ensure that the NPI numbers of physicians affiliated with your organization are accurate.

Individual providers and organizations should check the NPPES records as soon as possible because the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) plan to release parts of that data to the public. However, at this time, an exact date for release has not been set.
