The National Practitioner Data Bank's (NPDB) new Proactive Disclosure System (PDS) prototype is designed to alert you and your organization if the NPBD receives a report on any of your enrolled practitioners, according to the NPDB's Web site.
The NPDB said it is now offering the service because of "growing interest in the ongoing monitoring of healthcare practitioners." An organization can opt to enroll some or all of their practitioners in the PDS, and can continue to query the database for those practitioners that are not enrolled. The PDS is meant as an alternative to the current querying process.
