There are a number of red flags to watch for when it comes to credentialing a new member of your medical staff, including

  • Time gaps in clinical practice history
  • Time gaps in malpractice history
  • Rapid shifts in positions
  • Failure to obtain references
  • Reluctance on the part of references to respond to contacts
