NCQA medical specialties measures open for public comment

The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), in collaboration with Mathematic Policy research and the American Medical Association (AMA) and the AMA's Physician Consortium for Performance Improvement, has released the first in what is expected to be a number of physician quality measures for public comment focusing on specialty care.
The measures will be considered for use by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to captures data about the quality of care provided by Medicare beneficiaries, according to the NCQA's official release.
The first round of measures released focus on eye care, osteoporosis, and perioperative care. Additional measures will be released in the coming months.
