Imposter surveyor attempts to access California hospital

The American Hospital Association (AHA) stated this week that the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) has warned that an imposter is currently attempting to pose as a JCAHO surveyor. The imposter has been using the name of a JCAHO official and attempted to gain access to a
The JCAHO advises that accredited organizations request to see JCAHO badges from surveyors when they arrive. JCAHO ID information can be verified through the organization's Web site, where names, photographs and biographies of surveyors are located, as well as survey notification letters.
The JCAHO has requested that anyone who encounters a possible imposter contact the organization at 630-792-5757.
