AHA task force looks at specialty hospitals

The American Hospital Association (AHA) has formed a task force to help the association and its member hospitals deal with the challenges posed by the influx of physician-owned specialty hospitals and other limited service providers, according to an AHA press release.
The task force is charged with developing strategies to address services offered by limited specialty or niche providers and evaluating models that could provide physicians with opportunities to invest in or partner with full-services hospitals, the press release stated.
