The JCAHO plans to launch a new certification program for health care staffing services in the fall of 2004.
The program will provide a comprehensive evaluation of key processes such as verifying the credentials and competencies of health care staff, according to the JCAHO's Web site. Health care staffing agencies will need to meet a variety of program standards to achieve certification. The JCAHO will publicly disclose certification results and will award a certificate of distinction to health care staffing firms that meet the requirements.
