Don't be pressured into privileging for new technology

Medical staff services professionals should take a step back and not get pushed into privileging physicians for new technology -- including new procedures, devices, drugs and diagnostic tests. Just because a physician wants to use this new technology, hospitals should first ask if they want that technology used in their facility, said the speakers at the February audioconference "Privileging Physicians for New Procedures and Equipment: How to integrate new technology into your hospital."
