Prior to granting privileges, organizations evaluate:
- Challenges to licensure registration
- Voluntary and involuntary relinquishment of licensure/registration
- Voluntary and involuntary termination of medical staff membership
- Voluntary and involuntary limitation, reduction, or loss of clinical privileges
- Evidence of an unusual pattern or excessive number of professional liability actions resulting in a final judgment against the practitioner
- Relevant practitioner-specific data compared to aggregate data, when available
- Morbidity and mortality data, when available
This week’s Q&A is from HCPro’s Core Privileges for AHPs by Carol Cairns, CPMSM, CPCS and Sally Pelletier, CPMSM, CPCS.
