Before processing a low- and no-volume practitioner’s request for renewed privileges, hospital and medical staff leaders should engage the practitioner in a collegial conversation to determine whether he or she is still interested in the same privileges. Additionally, MSPs can collect data on the practitioner’s activity level to distribute to the parties prior to the conversation.
