Medversant sues Morrisey Associates, Inc. over credentialing patent

Medversant Technologies LLC is taking Morrissey Associates, Inc. to court over an alleged patent infringement of their credentialing software.
We contacted Medversant and Morrisey for comments about the lawsuit. Gerald Zoldan, Chairman & CEO of Morrisey Associates, Inc. told us, “A competitor, Medversant, recently brought an issued U.S. patent [7,529,682] to Morrisey’s attention in regard to our MSOW credentialing product. We are confident that MSOW does not infringe any claims in this patent, but nevertheless have engaged patent attorneys to consider the patent and Medversant’s allegations. We expect this matter to be resolved shortly.”
Morrisey issues a press release and Frani DePalo, press contact for Medversant told us, “Medversant cannot comment on the specifics of this suit other than the press release. However, Medversant will vigorously defend its patent rights against infringement. Generally, available remedies in a patent infringement suit include (1) money damages amounting to Medversant's lost profits but no less than a reasonable royalty; and (2) the possibility of an injunction enjoining the infringing activity.”
