Researchers at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign have developed a new digital camera that’s curved like the human eye, according to www.ScienCentral.com.

While the current device may be used for non-health related projects, such as military cameras, it does open doors for future medical advances. For example, the researchers are developing curved pacemakers that fit around the heart. “[The pacemaker will] pace it in very sophisticated ways that goes beyond anything that’s possible with current technology,” researcher John Rogers told ScienCentral.
